Bobby Whitlock (1948–2025) was an American singer, songwriter, and keyboardist best known as a founding member of Derek and the Dominos alongside Eric Clapton. Born in Memphis, Whitlock was the first white artist signed to Stax Records, where he developed his soulful style. He co-wrote and performed on the iconic album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, contributing to classics like “Bell Bottom Blues.” Whitlock also collaborated with George Harrison on All Things Must Pass and worked with the Rolling Stones. His later career included solo work and performances with his wife, CoCo Carmel. He passed away at 77
