Product description
MCIII strikes the height of luxury in each detail, including its sublime and alluring design. A sleek and artistic object, the opulent bottle intertwines two universes: the glass through its luminous black glass bottle, and the metal through its intricate metallic cap and medallion base. The third universe is represented by its striking wooden coffret. The bottle discreetly indicates, in its suave and minimalist fashion, the exclusive innovation that it holds within. MCIII’s pioneering assemblage philosophy is grounded in three stratums in order to achieve perfect integration and complementarity of the assembled wines. THE PRIMARY STRATUM: MCIII 001.14’s primary stratum (37% - 40%) is made from the metal universe: the most intense Chardonnay and the most structured Pinot Noir from 2003 that have been fermented and aged in stainless steel vats. This stratum adds an intense fruity wine dimension that turns into a compelling fruitiness evoking the sophisticated and bright sense of summertime in all its richness. THE SECOND STRATUM: The second stratum (37% - 40%) is made from the wood universe: Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage blends 1998, 2000 and 2002 that have been partially aged in large oak casks and then preserved in stainless steel vats. This stratum enriches the final assemblage by preserving a fruity dimension while integrating more elements of transformation and evolution. Blonder and sophisticated notes turn into a captivating palate that evokes images of the autumn season, like a refined patina built deliberately over time. THE THIRD STRATUM: The third stratum (20% - 25%) is made from the glass universe: these are champagnes from Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage Collection from 1993, 1998 and 1999, aged in bottle, disgorged and remises en circle. This stratum will complete the perfect balance of the final assemblage by integrating a dimension that is lively and full of vitality with more roasted notes and depth, turned into an eminent maturity evoking refinement and radiance. TASTING NOTES MCIII is of a vibrant yellow color with brilliant golden reflections, and possesses a very fine bead. On the nose, the complex fragrance reveals itself gradually, layer by layer, as families of aromas seamlessly follow one another in smooth succession. First come mature, darker, warm, sweet notes of coffee, malt, mocha, praline, licorice, Tonka bean, pecan, ripened wheat and Viennese pastry. Subsequently the wine’s rich, intense fruitiness comes to the fore with nuances of citrus peel, citron, kumquat, bergamot and verbena. The final aromas are mineral-tinged, redolent of flint and the iodine scent of the sea, along with dry toasted notes. On the palate, the maturity and richness are first evidenced by a dynamic expansiveness, a sensation of silky opulence. The wine is both full-bodied and delicate, dense and lithe, imposing and elegant. A form of controlled power, evocative of a thoroughbred stallion, progressively releases itself, channeled and guided by the structure of the champagne. Fruitiness is expressed in notes of candied citrus fruits, stone fruits (plums and nectarines), dried figs and dates along with warm spices (vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg). The wine evolves toward a precise, mineral finish, with a slightly bitter saltiness that is refreshing and invigorating.
